When we posted a picture of this carrot mesh design by Paul Michael Company’s creative designers on our Facebook page, it was met with an overwhelmingly positive response—more than 230 people liked it!
Many even asked about how to make one. If you love to DIY decor, we’ve not only posted instructions on our Facebook page for the carrot mesh design, but also made a how-to video to help—and of course we wanted our blog readers to be able to see it, too!
The instructions in the video take you through the steps of making a carrot like this one with two different options: Option A, using 4-inch-by-25-yards of green mesh ribbon, or Option B, using 21-inch-by-10-yards of green mesh ribbon.
You can make a carrot like this using a half cone form with green and orange mesh, or we can make one for you!
Easter is only a few weeks away, so we wanted to offer more great decorating inspiration for the holiday. While we’ve already shared an overview of some of our Easter décor, in today’s post we want to focus specifically on rabbits. Check out these Easter bunnies from Paul Michael Company for ideas:
Welcome guests to your home with this adorable Welcome sign.
These two bunnies would look great perched on a shelf or mantel.
You can place these colorful bunnies in a pot of spring flowers.
And this bunny is perfect for a more nature-inspired Easter look.
These are just a few of our Easter goodies. Stop by one of the four Paul Michael Company stores to check out all of our Easter décor, including bunnies, Easter eggs, flowers and wreaths. And be sure to subscribe to our blog for more updates on holiday decor, design tips and trends, recycled and reclaimed furnishings, Paul’s World and more.
All of the Paul Michael Company stores have undergone a makeover!
In addition to lots of new furniture, there are more Easter items and an expanded Creation Station where designers are making the cutest fresh spring and Easter wreaths. We even installed a how-to video in the Monroe location so you can watch how to make a wreath yourself! (You can also check out our Whimsical Wreath Workshop video in this post on working with mesh.)
The French Countryside section in our Monroe store.
All the stores also have designated sections now, including Modern and Chic, Farmer’s Market, Going Global, By the Sea, English Cottage, Here Comes the Bride and Easter parade. The products in these areas go along with the theme.
Nearly everyone who’s come in has noticed the new look and can’t believe it. We hope you’ll visit to see the makeovers, too! We have store locations in Lake Village, AR; Monroe, LA; Lafayette, LA; and Canton, TX.
Lads and lassies will be gathering at all the Paul Michael Company locations March 15 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. for St. Patrick’s at Paul’s, and their friends will be green with envy when they see all the new items.
There will be drawings out of the pot of gold the night of the St. Patty’s party for big discounts, and everyone will get 25% off one item. There will also be food, beverages, how-tos and hourly drawings for gift certificates. Here’s what a few of the different stores are doing for the event:
The Monroe store is having Irish-themed food, including a “pot of gold” potato bar with hot and cold toppings, mini Reuben sandwiches, shamrock cookies and mint brownies. You can look forward to door prizes, drawings at the register for a chance at 50% off an item, and a wreath-off contest!
The Lafayette location is doing a Bayou Boogies photo booth. Our logo will be on the film strip, and they’ll bring St. Patrick’s Day props along with a bunch of other fun props. Joey’s will be catering.
The Canton store is going to have a band, Danny Hollis, who performed for ladies’ night. He’s really good, and his sons also play with him! There will also be St. Patrick’s Day-related food and beverages following the green theme, of course.
Lake Village, AR
Lake Village is having a wreath making contest. 3 people will be selected to construct a spring wreath using the same components and they only have 20 minutes! All will take home their wreath, and one lucky winner will also receive a $50 gift card. Also, Mrs. Debbie will be demonstrating her favorite new product called ‘The Instant Face Lift.’ Watch the wrinkles disappear before your eyes.
Everyone will receive 25% off one item. Draw from Paul’s Pot of Gold for your chance to receive 50% off one item.
We hope you’ll join us for the fun this Thursday, March 15! You can find the addresses of our four stores on our Locations page.
We recently acquired a giant tree trunk, and we know we’ll be turning the wood into something fun for Paul’s World. Just look at the potential here!
We’re not only looking forward to transforming this tree, but also love the idea of repurposing old wood and manufacturing here in the U.S. Going local is a concept we’ve been championing at Paul Michael Company for a while, and now many believe there will be a return of manufacturing to the U.S.—and soon.
In fact, a recent article in the Harvard Business Review discusses an upcoming U.S. “manufacturing renaissance,” including the furniture industry as one of the main categories this could affect.
You may also recall that one of 2012’s big decorating trends is that people want more furnishings made here in the U.S.—and that’s exactly what we’re doing with Paul’s World.
Are you interested in locally made furniture and accessories for your home? We think it gives the goods a special touch!
